1976, Prosegur was founded by Herberto Gut, with his sights set on the emerging Private Security sector in Spain. The Company was a pioneer in areas such as shopping centres, power plants and industrial facilities, among others. 1980, Prosegur opens its first delegation outside Spain in Lisbon as the first touchstone in its international expansion process, thus beginning its international expansion policy. This policy continued into 1982 when, through the purchase of smaller operators in the sector, Prosegur began its growth and consolidation stage in the Spanish market. 1987, Prosegur becomes the first and only Spanish security company to be publicly traded. 1992, saw the creation of the Alarms division, known today as Prosegur Activa, enabling the Group to cover all the sectors in the security field. 1995, Prosegur enters the Italian market with Prosegur Rome and begins its expansion in Latin America with surveillance services. 2001, Prosegur celebrates its 25th anniversary and reaffirms its position among the major security companies worldwide. That same year, it becomes firmly established in the French market with the acquisition of Cinieri and consolidates its position in major Latin American countries with the incorporation of Jucandella. 2005, Prosegur sets its sights on new security technologies and acquires the Nordés Group. Prosegur Technology, a pioneer in electronic security systems and fire protection was born as a result of this acquisition. Also during 2005, Prosegur acquires the Spanish security company CESS, thereby strengthening its leadership position in Spain. Internationally, it acquired the Brazilian transport companies Preserve Segurança and Transpev, making it the first company in the private security market in Brazil. Finally, this year Prosegur opens a new market with its entry into Romania. 2006, Prosegur acquires within the area of technology, the companies Escol in Portugal and Fireless in Argentina. 2007, Prosegur continues its policy of acquisitions strengthening the various business areas. Thus, in Colombia it acquired Thomas Greg & Sons Transportadora de Valores SA, a company dedicated to Asset Management, Cash Handling and ATM Management. In Europe, Prosegur acquires IVRI in Italia and Crisegur in Spain. The year closes with the acquisition in the technology area of the Spanish company IASA. 2008, Prosegur acquires in the corporate security area Reyes in México. In the area of residential security, the Chilean company Telemergencia was acquired. 2009, Prosegur acquires Norsergel and Centuria in Brazil and Blindados SLR in Uruguay. In Europe, the French company Valtis was acquired. During the same year it acquired in the residential security area ORUS and Punta Systems in Peru and Uruguay respectively. Finally, Prosegur acquired in the technology area, Setha in Brazil, Segmatic in Chile and GIASA in Argentina. 2010, Prosegur acquires the Active Surveillance portfolio of the French company Maison de la Sécurité, Genper in Uruguay, Tellex in Argentina, Telemergencia in Peru and Martom in Brazil.
2011, Prosegur acquires Prosec, a non-armed guarding company in Singapore.
